It’s worth checking out Rob Hindle’s excellent blog if you get the chance. He regularly updates his site with thoughtful pieces on writing poetry, creativity, and wider aspects of the arts.  He has a ‘guest poet’ slot as well that is certainly worth reading.  You can find his own poetry on the site as well.
